Chaos Factors is yet again reborn on Nathrezim as a guild. This time, Tuan aka Skandhas / Dukkha / Sidhartha will be taking rein to rebuild Chaos Factors into a small, close-knit, casual guild based on attitude and determination. This site will be created for usaged in the World of Warcraft gaming realm. To start this off, the Guild Reformation Strategy presented by Tuan.
The reason for being in Chaos Factors (CF) is to have fun, bond with your fellow players and enjoy an environment free of the issues that plague each of us in our daily life. We are a community, dedicated to knowing each other and co-existing in a gaming environment, not only in WoW, but any game we choose to play as a group. With this as the crux of our belief, those that choose to be a part of this community should be of the same mindset and understanding. We are a casual gaming group that doesn’t have a lot of time to waste on trivial issues. We are limited in our play time due to other real life issues and thus seek to maximize the time we have on-line in the most productive manner possible; Casual in attitude, serious in dedication.
There are always requirements to be a part of a group or organization; some are more drawn out than others. In CF, the requirements are simple and up to the interpretation of the senior members in charge. These requirements are:
CF is not actively recruiting or will ever actively recruit “en mass”. We will use the trickle system and screen each player based on the vouch of the community member. The new recruit, once in to the community are part of the community and will be treated as thus. However, keep in mind, we do not believe in recruit to purge so we will scrutinize each new member for attitude and dedication. More so if they choose to go on guild sponsored events and raids.
Each member is responsible for their own character development. They are responsible to prepare their characters for play in any way they choose. Whether they are “die hard” pvper, looking to do heroics or a grinder, it is their responsibility to develop their own characters. If the member, however, chooses to be a part of the guild sponsored events then they must take the initiative to find out what requirements may be demanded of them to function competently in the event. Doing Naxx in Greens is probably not a wise idea and will increase the potential chance for a wipe. In this case, participating in a few Heroic 5 mans may be the self-initiated prerequisite that the player may need to do to get some decent experience and upgrades in order to add to the Naxx event. The same would apply to mis-specs that do not fully utilize the development path that the player envisions for themselves. Guild sponsored events are a privilege not a right.
With the great disdain for DKP or anything that bases distribution of items based on some statistical number that reflects being present and nothing more, I believe “loot” should be up the discretion of need. Since most loot are now purchased through tokens, anything that drops is really a bonus. With that in mind, bonuses should be award based on need for progression through raiding. The idea of loot council where senior members decides who needs what is fair. An example that I draw from is this: A good shield drops, the main tank would like it cause it is a marginal upgrade to his current shield. The off-tank, who has shown the same dedication as the main tank, has a less than par shield where this would reflect as a major upgrade would get it since it better serves the raid progression. Of course not all decisions are as simple, but they will be made. This is where the requirement of attitude comes into play as we will gauge the reaction of members through this process.
In the course of game play there will be conflicts. For conflicts to not fester there needs to be clear and decisive resolution. The best course would be for the parties involved to work it out, but if need be a senior member can act as an unbiased mediator. In the case where a senior member is required to mediate, their decision is final and the situation is considered handled.
No one likes to be tossed but it will happen, mainly on either issues of attitude or dedication. Any decision to toss will be reviewed by the senior members. If the player reaches this point, chances are something is seriously wrong. For the sake of the entire community, said player will be restricted from participating in guild sponsored events to minimize the impact of their negativity. Once the situation is resolved they will either be given back their ability to participate in guild sponsored events or tossed. Very cut and dry.
